MIRSAD — Center for Policy & Polling
English

About the center

The name

“Mirsad” is Arabic for the lookout post — the high place from which an observer keeps patient, precise watch. The same root gives Arabic its words for observatories: astronomy is measurement at its most exact, and an observatory never gets the number wrong. That is the identity: vigilant, scientific observation — no number escapes us.

Vision & mission

A Syrian center for policy and polling that measures Syria with a published methodology, feeds decision-makers with evidence rather than impressions, and builds the country's first cumulative database of national indicators — twelve of them in the first Barometer, several measured nationally for the first time.

Five governance commitments

A diverse board of trusteesNo single faction, sect or funder dominates it.
Annual funding disclosureSources and shares, published every year.
